Baker Mayfield leads the Browns (6-7-1) in Hue Jackson Revenge Game No. 2 against their in-state rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals (6-8), as Week 16 action continues on Sunday afternoon.

Cleveland has won four of its past five games. Even if the playoffs are on life support, the thought of finishing above .500 is something that Browns players like Jabrill Peppers take pride. Peppers told reporters this week:

“That’s actually my goal. The playoffs are something we can’t control. Having a winning record, that’s something we can control. That’s my main focus. Let’s win out. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. It gives us a stepping stone for next year.”

The Browns have not defeated the Bengals twice in a season since 2002, coincidentally the last time the team made the postseason — with Kelly Holcomb under center. Cleveland also has a chance to hand Hue Jackson a second loss this season, and possibly the nail in the coffin to finally get Marvin Lewis fired.

Falcons vs Panthers

Falcons vs. Panthers : One reason to worry, one reason to feel confident about Week 16, The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons meet for the second time this season with all illusions dispelled. The Panthers are not a playoff team, and neither are the Falcons, and they’ll be showing up together at Bank of America Stadium knowing full well just how disappointing their 2018 seasons have been. The Falcons and Panthers will have little to prove, when all is said is done, except that one might be better than the other.

Falcons vs Panthers Live

Is that important, when a top five draft pick in this class might be transformative? I’d argue no, but the Panthers are trying to keep a head coach in a job and the Falcons are trying to prove they…well, that they don’t suck. I expect a pretty game effort by both teams.

If you’re someone who is invested in whether this a win or a loss, here’s what you need to worry about and what you can feel good about.

Feel confident about stopping this passing game

The Panthers aren’t as bad as Josh Rosen’s Cardinals through the air, but with Taylor Heinickeunder center, they’re unlikely to be significant better. These Panthers have a promising future #1 in D.J. Moore, but no Greg Olsen, no Cam Newton, and a bunch of middling options outside of that. Aside from Heinicke simply checking down to Christian McCaffrey 20 times in this one, the chances of the Panthers having a successful day passing against a suddenly decent pass rush and swaggery Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford seems slim at best.

Of course, the Falcons won’t get the same break next week against a capable Buccaneerspassing attack, so this is their last hurrah of the season. But it’s a great opportunity for the pass rush to gain a little more confidence, for the secondary to perform well, and for these Falcons to feel like they don’t have the worst defense in the entire world for one more week. Those opportunities are welcome.

Hey, since that one-sided win against Washington, here’s what some of the options in the passing game have managed in six games:

In that same timeframe, Julio Jones has gone for 40 receptions, 579 yards, and five touchdowns. Because Julio has been so good, we’ve been less inclined to comment on the fact that everyone else has been between okay and useless, with Ridley hitting a massive wall late in the season.

That’s why I’m extremely worried about how the Falcons will fare in this one. The offensive line isn’t going to fare as well against the Panthers as they did against the Cardinals, and Julio might have to sit this one alongside Ito Smith, who just hit injured reserve. Between that defensive line and some at least capable options in the secondary, it would not be surprising at all if Matt Ryanand company couldn’t get things going in any meaningful fashion. Given that they’ve only managed a true offensive outburst against Arizona, I don’t expect them to be prolific in this one, despite their evident talent.

Paris Saint germain vs Nantes

Paris Saint germain vs Nantes ; This is it: the final Ligue 1 game of the season for both Paris Saint-Germain and Nantes. Both teams have nothing to play for except pride, and speaking after Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Girondins de Bordeaux, manager Laurent Blanc let it be known he is keen to end the league campaign on a high.

Paris Saint germain vs Nantes Live

“Tonight, it was a typical end of season match and it was the right result, because we’re playing in between the final two rounds of the season,” he told the club’s official website. “We have ten days before the final of the Coupe de France. … We want to finish the season well in front of our supporters on Saturday against Nantes and obviously win a tenth Cup.”

Les Canaris go to Paris having only won one of their last six games and won’t be expecting much from their visit to the French capital. PSG’s home record has been outstanding this season, with only one defeat and three draws from their 18 league matches at the Parc des Princes.

Blanc will be demanding they go out with a win, setting up their Coupe de France final against Olympique de Marseille at the Stade de France on May 21.

Paris Saint-Germain FC Nantes

There are doubts over the fitness of Zlatan Ibrahimovic going into Saturday’s game, after the Swedish forward came off after 70 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Bordeaux on Wednesday. Blanc revealed the striker asked to be withdrawn.

But with the player announcing his departure from PSG this summer, per BBC Sport, even if he doesn’t start, it’s likely he will play some part in Saturday’s game.

Salvatore Sirigu should start the game as he prepares for the cup final, and there could also be a place back in the team for midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who is recovering from a hip injury.

PSG (4-3-3): Salvatore Sirigu; Serge Aurier, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Maxwell; Christopher Nkunku, Adrien Rabiot, Thiago Motta; Angel Di Maria, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani.

Centre-back Oswaldo Vizcarrondo returns to the Nantes side from suspension and should partner Koffi Djidji in defence. Yacine Bammou wasn’t named in the squad due to injury, the former PSG youngster scored when the two sides met at the Stade de la Beaujoire in September.

Lorik Cana is also back after injury and could face his former side in place of Djidji, but Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, Valentin Rongier and Wilfried Moimbe will miss out.

Nantes (4-2-3-1): Remy Riou; Youssouf Sabaly, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, Koffi Djidji, Leo Dubois; Guillaume Gillet, Remi Gomis; Adrien Thomasson, Alejandro Bedoya, Adryan; Emiliano Sala.

There are quite a few stories coming to an end at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. Michel Der Zakarian will take charge of his last game as Nantes coach, with Rene Girard taking over next season.

It will also mark the end of Youssouf Sabaly’s loan spell at Les Canaris. The full-back has spent the season on loan from PSG and will end the campaign playing against his parent club.

Speaking to the Nantes website before Saturday’s game, the 23-year-old was excited for the match, saying it would be a special occasion, ending a great season playing against his employer.

Sabaly was clear he has to try and play this match without emotion, not try too hard and just be himself. This is the first full season he has played as a right-back, and he believes he has learned a lot from Der Zakarian in both the attacking and defensive aspects of the game.

The player still holds aspirations of finding a place in the PSG squad, and with Gregory van der Wiel looking likely to move on when his contract expires in the summer, if Sabaly can impress on Saturday, he could convince the club he deserves a spot in the squad next season.

Just to make sure he was the headline act on Saturday, on Friday morning, Ibrahimovic announced to the world he would be playing his last game for PSG at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, confirming his departure this summer.

His goal against Bordeaux on Wednesday was his 36th league goal of the season, and it will be up to Vizcarrondo and Djidji to spoil the Swede’s leaving party.

Nantes have a relatively good defensive record this season, conceding 40 goals in 37 games, but that will be put to a serious test on Saturday.

The back four will have to be at its best and hope Ibrahimovic and PSG have one eye on the following week’s Coupe de France final.

PSG vs Nantes

PSG vs Nantes: Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips here. Can les Parisiens head into the Christmas break with their unbeaten Ligue 1 run in tact as they welcome Nantes to Parc des Princes this weekend?

PSG vs Nantes Live stream

Paris Saint Germain have been dominating the Ligue 1 title race as expected this season. Les Parisiens have won the title five times in the last six seasons and that solitary victory for Monaco two years ago seems to have forced their hand into investing even more heavily in their squad with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe arriving since to help ease the team back to the top of the table last season and they look set to win it with ease again this term.

Thomas Tuchel’s aim will be not only to win the title but also to earn some European glory after his side managed to edge out Napoli to progress with Liverpool in the Champions League but until February, attention will turn to keeping their unbeaten league run which now stands at 16 games so far in this campaign. With the home advantage, anything other than a PSG win at odds of 2/17 would be a real shock here.

Nantes have been a midtable side in the French top tier for the last few campaigns as they long for a return to their historic glory days. Les Canaris were once one of the most successful teams in the nation, winning the league eight times in their history and enjoying a real spell of dominance in the 1970s and 1980s but without the funds to compete with the more glamorous sides in the league they have struggled to compete at the top.

Vahid Halilhodzic has led the side to some better form in recent weeks. After a slow start to the campaign, Nantes have lost just one of their last eight matches in all competitions as they make the trip to the capital this weekend. They, like the majority of the league, have a poor record against PSG over the last few seasons but you can back them to produce a stunning away win here at odds of 18/1.

PSG v Nantes Match Stats

PSG are unbeaten in 16 Ligue 1 matches so far this season

Nantes have lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions

Les Canaris were beaten 4-1 on their last trip to Parc des Princes

PSG v Nantes betting tips

Paris Saint Germain are expected to flex their muscles and win out easily here but defensively they have not looked quite as strong in recent weeks. Tuchel’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five games, despite not being defeated in any of those matches. Nantes meanwhile have been racking up the goals of late, finding the net 19 times in their last eight games. The home win and BTTS bet is priced at 27/20.
Edison Cavani makes up one third of PSG’s incredible attack alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe but the Uruguayan is the most in-form of the forwards at the moment. The 31 year old has racked up 13 goals in 17 appearances so far in this campaign and has found the net in each of his last three appearances for his club in all competitions so we’re backing him to find the net again in this clash.

Juventus vs Roma Live stream

Juventus retain a firm grip on first place in Serie A , with Roma the next side to challenge the apparently untouchable Turin giants as they visit the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Juve boast 15 wins and one draw from their opening 16 matches of the campaign, which is the best record of any club in Europe’s top five leagues. They were pushed a week ago by Torino, but a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty gave them a 1-0 win over their neighbours.

Roma, meanwhile, are in the race for a Champions League spot but are not hitting the heights expected of them and will have to raise their level substantially to challenge Italy’s top dogs.

Juventus have seen Sami Khedira return to regular training this week, though it may be too early for the midfielder to see action.

Joao Cancelo and Juan Cuadrado remain the key injury problems for the Turin giants.

It has been another thoroughly satisfactory week for Juventus, who lead Serie A by eight points over second-placed Napoli with a virtually unblemished record approaching their final match before Christmas.

Star summer signing Cristiano Ronaldo proved the difference from the penalty spot as Torino were seen off 1-0 last weekend in a competitive local derby, while away from the field they have been heartened by Alex Sandro penning a new deal and Daniele Rugani closing in on one.

Certainly, the Portuguese’s presence seems to have boosted spirits in the camp, with Moise Kean explaining to RMC : “I had only seen him on the PlayStation before! Playing with him has improved me a lot, I learn a lot from him as well as from the other champions with the Bianconeri.”

Perhaps the only concern for Juve came in Monday’s Champions League draw, in which they were paired with Atletico Madrid, despite beating Manchester United to finish top of their pool.

“We didn’t have much luck,” vice-chairman Pavel Nedved lamented.

But Juve can worry about Atleti in February, particularly as they have a challenging Serie A match forthcoming against Roma.

With only six wins from 16 league matches this season, Eusebio Di Francesco finds himself a man under pressure.

They have conceded two goals in each of their last five outings in all competitions and had to twice come from behind to beat Genoa 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend.

“We have so much pressure on us that the wait for the next match has been really hard,” captain De Rossi explained. “We have a lot of pressure on our shoulders. We’re in a delicate period because we know we have to do better than we have been doing.

“We are all under observation, including the coach, and we know it. We want to have a great match, more for ourselves than for the importance of the game. Against the strongest of them all.”

A massive 22 points behind Juve, it is abundantly clear how daunting their task is.

Barcelona vs Celta Vigo

Celta will be hoping to cause an upset to help their European aspirations, as they sit three points behind the Europa League places. Miguel Cardoso’s side are unbeaten in their last three games, so it won’t be an easy afternoon for the Catalan side.

Here’s 90min’s preview of the game.

Rafinha and Samuel Umtiti remain long term absentees for Barca, with Rafinha suffering a season ending cruciate ligament injury and Umtiti succumbing to a knee problem.

Umtiti’s injury opens the door for fellow Frenchman Clement Lenglet to continue to deputise at centre half for the foreseeable future.

Malcolm, Sergi Samper and Sergi Roberto are all back in training following injuries, but right back Nelson Semedo is still a doubt after missing last weekend’s win over Levante.

As for Celta, they have no new injury concerns. Forward Nolito is closing in on a return to full fitness after a hamstring injury and could be involved in Saturday’s game.

Predicted Lineups

Barcelona Ter Stegen; Roberto, Lenglet, Pique, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Dembele.
Celta Vigo Blanco; Mallo, Araujo, Costas, Junca; Mendez, Jozabed, Yokuslu, Boufal; Aspas. Gomez.

Head to Head Record

Whilst Barca usually have the edge when it comes to this fixture, Celta have shown multiple times that they are more than capable of getting a result against their more illustrious opponents.

Out of 32 total games played, Barcelona have won 14, Celta have won eight, and ten matches have ended in a draw.

” data-viewability_category=”Article page” data-viewability_action=”widget viewable impression” data-viewability_label=”build_legened”>

Both league fixtures between the teams last season ended in 2-2 draws, although Barca ran out 6-1 aggregate winners in the Copa del Rey.

Recent Form

Both sides enter the match in decent form. Celta are unbeaten in their last three league matches, winning twice, while Barcelona have only tasted defeat twice all season.

Here’s how both teams have fared in their last five matches:

Barcelona Celta Vigo
Levante 0-5 Barcelona (16/12) Celta Vigo 0-0 Leganes (14/12)
Barcelona 1-1 Tottenham (11/12) Villarreal 2-3 Celta Vigo (8/12)
Espanyol 0-4 Barcelona (8/12) Real Sociedad 2-0 Celta Vigo (5/12)
Barcelona 4-1 Cultural Leonesa (5/12) Celta Vigo 2-0 Huesca (1/12)
Barcelona 2-0 Villarreal (2/12) Real Sociedad 2-1 Celta Vigo (26/11)

While it won’t be an easy task for the home side, Barcelona might just have too much for their opponents.

With Messi and Ousmane Dembele showing great form of late, Valverde’s side will have too much firepower and the Celta defence will be in for a testing afternoon.

Cardiff city vs Manchester United

Cardiff city vs Manchester United : Manchester City eased into the FA Cup fifth round with an authoritative win away against Championship side Cardiff City. A record crowd for Bluebirds games at the Cardiff City Stadium was dumbfounded into silence as Kevin de Bruyne cheekily rolled a free-kick under the jumping wall to give the visitors a lead, which Raheem Sterling doubled with a header before half-time.

Cardiff city vs Manchester United Live

Those goals bookended an excellent Bernardo Silva strike which was incorrectly disallowed for offside, which had little bearing on the result but might have been awarded had the video assistant referee (VAR) system been in use at the match.

City missed chances to extend their lead in the second half – notably Sterling being denied by a fine covering tackle by Sean Morrison – but they were seldom troubled by Cardiff, who ended the game with 10 men after Joe Bennett’s late red card.

This was a fixture which produced a memorable upset in 1994, as Nathan Blake’s spectacular curling effort gave Cardiff – then struggling in the third tier – a 1-0 win over top-flight City at Ninian Park.

But there was never the prospect of a shock result on this occasion, with runaway Premier League leaders City progressing to keep alive their hopes of completing an unprecedented quadruple of the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup trophies.

City overcame a spirited effort from Cardiff’s Championship rivals Bristol City in a keenly contested Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday night, with manager Pep Guardiola fulsome in his praise for Lee Johnson’s men over two legs.

The former Barcelona boss was also wary of the threat Cardiff would pose, watching their third-round replay win over Mansfield from the stands and remarking that his City players would need to be on their toes against a Welsh side who would play “a lot of long balls”.

There was certainly a rustic enthusiasm to Cardiff’s approach, though it proved costly as Joe Ralls’ heavy tackle on Ilkay Gundogan led to the free-kick which De Bruyne cleverly stroked under the jumping wall and into the bottom corner.

Cardiff pressed their opponents in wide positions but left spaces in midfield, which the likes of De Bruyne, Gundogan and Silva exploited ruthlessly.

After the frustration of having a goal disallowed, Silva scampered down the left wing and delivered a fabulous swinging cross to Sterling, who nodded in from close range to effectively kill the tie off before the break.

The first half ended on a sour note for City as Leroy Sane was the victim of a dreadful, studs-up foul from Bennett, who was fortunate only to receive a yellow card for the tackle which forced the German winger off at half-time.

Sane’s departure had no bearing on the result and neither did City’s inability to extend their lead despite second-half chances for Sterling and Silva.

Where was VAR when needed?

City’s progress never looked in doubt but there was a moment of real confusion when Silva’s goal was disallowed in the first half.

After smashing the ball in off the crossbar, the Portuguese jogged off to celebrate but stopped after realising referee Lee Mason was pointing to his assistant, who raised his flag having deemed Leroy Sane to be in an offside position.

Replays showed that, in fact, Sane was not offside and, although Mason discussed the matter further with his assistant, the VAR technology was not available to them for this match and the goal did not stand.

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer said: “Leroy Sane is not offside at all so he cant be interfering with play. For that incident VAR would be perfect as it’s fact, not an opinion. In that situation, I am all for it.”

The lack of clarity was in contrast to West Brom’s FA Cup win at Liverpool on Saturday, in which referee Craig Pawson ruled out an Albion goal, gave Liverpool a penalty and delayed awarding the visitors’ third goal because of VAR referrals.

During the game the German national team tweeted about the welfare of some of their players in Manchester City’s line-up

The difference between the teams mirrored an intriguing clash of styles in the dugout, with Cardiff manager Neil Warnock – renowned for building ruggedly effective Championship sides – taking on Guardiola, the architect of some of the most aesthetically pleasing teams in recent football history.

Warnock described City as the best team in Europe in the build-up to this match and joked that his players had been preparing for the game – and City’s inevitable dominance – by training without a ball.

It proved to be a prescient quip, as the home side had to toil for long periods, struggling to lay a glove on their stylish opponents.

Cardiff did have a handful of chances – Junior Hoilett seeing a powerfully-struck volley almost fumbled over his own line by Claudio Bravo and then fizzing another effort narrowly over – but they could not truly trouble City.

Their eagerness sometimes strayed into recklessness, such as Bennett’s aforementioned dreadful foul on Sane and a clumsy challenge on Sergio Aguero which earned Bruno Ecuele Manga a booking.

Bennett was belatedly sent off for a second yellow card after fouling Brahim Diaz in added time but there was no shame in Cardiff losing to a City side who have enjoyed similar dominance over far superior teams this season.

Man of the match – Bernardo Silva

No upset for Pep again – Key stats

Following Kevin De Bruyne’s opener, Manchester City now have five players to have scored at least 10 goals in all competitions this season, more than any other English league side (Aguero, Sterling, Sane, Jesus, De Bruyne).

Cardiff City have progressed just once from their last 11 FA Cup ties against sides from a higher division, last beating then Premier League side Middlesbrough, back in 2008.

As a manager, Pep Guardiola has lost just once in 22 meetings with sides from a lower division (W19 D2), with that sole defeat coming in a Copa Del Rey match against Real Betis back in January 2011.

Raheem Sterling’s goal was his first headed goal in any club competition since Boxing Day 2015, in a Premier League game against Sunderland.

Bernardo Silva has been directly involved in nine goals (3 goals, 6 assists) in his last 13 games in all competitions, this after failing to register a single goal or assist in any of the 12 games prior to this run.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: “There are no words to describe my pride about my players and my team after so many games with no rest and because of injuries.

“A few players have played a lot of minutes, but again they were ready. I feel something special about that. Playing in the FA Cup away against Championship teams in top of league, like Cardiff are at the moment, is so complicated, we reacted like a mature team. I am so proud.

“We are in the draw and I hope we can have a team at home.”

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: “We knew there would be a difference in class and they didn’t disappointment me.

“If they had our chances we might have scored two or three.

“We had some good chances, but that lack of quality showed the difference in class. But I really enjoyed it, we could have easily gone under but all credit to the lads they stuck in there.

Manchester City are in action on Wednesday on what is transfer deadline day. Guardiola’s side host West Bromwich Albion in a 20:00 GMT kick-off. Cardiff return to Championship action on Saturday at Leeds United (15:00).

Frankfurt vs Bayern

Bayern Munich will look to further reduce the gap between themselves and Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund when they face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Bayern have endured a tough season so far, with Niko Kovac struggling to settle as their new manager, but the difference between the national champions and Dortmund is now only six points after the latter lost at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Frankfurt will be no pushovers and stunned Bayern in last year’s DFB-Pokal final when Kovac’s former side scored twice late on to win 3-1.

With Makoto Hasebe unlikely to recover from muscular problems in time, Marco Russ and Simon will battle for a spot in central defence. Ante Rebic is likely to return to Frankfurt’s starting XI and could replace Mijat Gacinovic.

As has been customary so far this season, Niklas Sule, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels will compete for the two centre back spots. Corentin Tolisso, James Rodriguez, Arjen Robben and Serge Gnabry are all absent through injury, while Renato Sanches is suspended.

Predicted Lineups

Eintracht Frankfurt Trapp; Russ, Salcedo, Ndicka; Costa, Fernandes, De Guzman, Kostic; Rebic; Jovic, Haller.
Bayern Munich Neuer; Kimmich, Sule, Boateng, Alaba; Goretzka, Thiago; Coman, Muller, Ribery, Lewandowski.

Head to Head Record

Bayern unsurprisingly lead the head to head chart, winning 69 of the 139 encounters in all competitions. Frankfurt have won 40, with 30 ending in draws.

When the two teams met in August, Bayern humiliated Frankfurt in their own back yard. Robert Lewandowski grabbed a hat-trick before the hour mark, with Kingsley Coman and Thiago Alcantara also netting to seal an emphatic 5-0 victory.

Having gone through a rough patch in November, which included a run of just one win in four games, Bayern appear to come through stronger, even if their defence still looks a bit shaky.

Their last defeat came against Dortmund and they most recently triumphed over RB Leipzig, Franck Ribery scoring the game’s only goal.

Frankfurt lost two on the bounce to Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin but bounced back with wins against Lazio and Bayer Leverkusen before drawing with Mainz.

Manchester City: City got some good news last weekend with the return of Kevin De Bruyne, who also managed to score midweek in the League Cup victory over Leicester City in penalty kicks. The Belgian is one of the top players in Europe, and getting him back just makes this dangerous team that much more difficult to deal with.

Crystal Palace: Palace has gotten a couple quality results as of late to ease relegation concerns. Palace has won two of their last four and have a big one coming up after this one with Cardiff City.
Manchester City vs. Crystal Palace prediction

Manchester City advanced to the Carabao Cup semifinals Tuesday with a win over Leicester City. 20-year-old goalkeeper Arijanet Muric played the hero for the Blues in a dramatic penalty shootout. Crystal Palace faced Leicester in its last Premier League match

Anything short of a victory here would be an upset, and it’s hard to see that happening. City wins, and the club wins big.
Kevin De Bruyne: The Belgian marked his return from seven weeks out with a knee injury by scoring a sensational goal in midweek against Leicester City. While his passing accuracy was not of his usual level, he was authoritative in the midfield and his long-range shooting ability, as shown by his goal, will add another dimension to the current City attack.

Chelsea: After the upset loss to Wolves on Dec. 5, the Blues bounced back by knocking off undefeated Manchester City and followed that up with a tough 2-1 win at Brighton to get into the top four. Now comes a really great chance to take a commanding lead ahead of fifth place. Chelsea will face Watford, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle after Wolves. Outside of Watford, the others are in the bottom third of the table.

Leicester City: The Foxes only have survival on their minds, and they’ll likely get there. To help their chances, they need to get something from games like this.. Following Chelsea, the team will face Manchester City, and they aren’t expected to get anything from either. Even a point from those two could be valuable come season’s end.
